Are you stuck for a purpose?

This question would always stump my clients when they would tell me that they felt stuck. Sometimes growth can happen when we are stuck. What we do with that stuck feeling is what matters.
Let me explain using an example that resonates with my soul, gardening. I love to garden and find that God uses it to teach me lessons in life and death. One of the lessons that my garden has showed me is that the seed has to be stuck for a certain amount of time. When you purchase a pack of seeds on the back you will find instructions like how deep the seed must be in the soil. What time of year to plant it, and for you today we will focus on the "days to germination."
If I were to plant a seed in the ground today and dig it up in two days to see if it is growing I would surely disturb the sprouting of the seed. If I kept doing this the seed would most likely not grow and I would have to plant another. I would need to have faith that in time it will grow. My faith needs to just care for the seed, water it and remove the weeds that may grow quicker than it.
Sometimes in life we may want things to happen now. Or we may wonder why certain things have happened to us that are painful, difficult and challenging. But if we are connected to God though prayer and reading His word, we can rest in Him "being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Phil 1:6 NIV
This is also told in the story of Joseph. He was given a dream of greatness, and yet he suffered at the hands of his brothers. He was then sold to Potipher where he prospered being connected to God. Yet circumstances occurred and he responded faithfully but was convicted of a crime he didn't commit and was thrown into prison. In many ways he was STUCK again. Yet he allowed God to use this stuck situation to grow him into what he was going to be. Genesis 39
When we try to get out of the stuck feeling on our own, we might be interrupting the growth that God wants to do in us. I pray that you will give the stuck feeling to God and be confident that He will use it to grow you into His purpose for your life.
